Frequently Asked Questions
- How much experience do I need? None.
New folks to the hobby or to N scale are welcome. We have members
at all skill levels. Members with special expertise offer clinics
at some of our monthly meetings. Our module building class is helping
many members get a module that they may not have the skills, assistance
or time to do on their own.
-
Do I need to have a module or equipment to join?
No. You are welcome to join whether or not you have a module or equipment.
You may want to join and participate for awhile before committing to N
scale. Or simply to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members in a
common hobby.
-
Do I have to belong to N-Trak, Inc. before I join Northwest N-Trak?
No. It is not necessary to belong to N-Trak, Inc. when you
join the club. We are a 100% N-Trak, Inc. club, so a membership
is included in your dues. If you already belong to N-Trak, Inc.,
we credit your dues the cost of the subscription.
-
May I have a copy of your newsletter? Yes.
Please feel free to contact us to
request a couple of complimentary copies of our newsletter.
-
May I attend a meeting or two without being required to join?
Yes. You are welcome to visit us without cost or obligation.
-
Do I have to attend all meetings? No.
Attendance at meetings is not mandatory, although we certainly encourage
attendance. Because of the distance to Palatine or work commitments,
some members miss many meetings. They have joined in order to participate
in our shows and set-ups. We try to keep everyone up to date on club
affairs through our monthly newsletter.
-
What does it cost to join? Annual dues
are $42. We prorate the dues of first year members and determine
the amount due based on which month of our fiscal year they join.
There is also a one-time initiation fee of $20, which is not prorated.
